Obviously you only do Domestic Work
As that attitude would be the death of you if you did that to a business.

Currently there are too many Mission Critical Business Applications that will not run on Vista and there is not time in the short term that that's going to change.

How about recommending to your local GP to drop XP and switch to Vista it's available now on Volume License so it's available but currently no Medical software will run on it but that shouldn't be a major cause of concern to you should it? After all your Patient Records are not overly important and if the Quack prescribes something that you are allergic to what's the harm?

Windows and games machines go hand in hand as honestly that is all that Windows was ever designed for to play games and quite well I might add but in business it leaves a lot to be desired.

If you buy a server product from M$ you pay for their server product then every desktop OS and then to allow you to connect to the server you need to buy either CAL's or Terminal Services Licenses which if you buy more than 10 cost more than the original cost of the Server OS.

This is reality and wrong but as M$ is making money out of this hand over fist who cares until you finally realise that the professionals who are using this substandard software are passing the cost onto their consumers so the business don't pay for rubbish like this their customers do and that's you and me!
