You can use this also for code snits - instead of changing the language, simply mark the checkbox for "Do not check spelling and garmmer" in the Set Language dialog, before creating the new style, and now you can include code snippets without seeing red all over.
Fantastic! Half my e-mail I compose in Spanish. In general I experience Word (2003) as doing a poor job handling the transitions from English to Spanish, and then back again as I create further texts. While this very creative tip regarding use of styles to assist with spell checking cannot address the full range of language-related problems, it is for me one giant step in the right direction.
MS Office 2007 (as well as 2003) have a problem with entering foreign characters in Contacts (this is not true of only one Contact field, Notes). I tried every conceivable way to enter these characters, but the just revert back to gobbelty-**** characters. I have reported this to MS over a year ago and they have done nothing about it. Since it relates somewhat to the problem discussed here about foreign language with MS Word, perhaps Mary Ann Richardson, or anyone else, can ehlpwith this problem.
