I'm far more interested in the net impact, taken three months after the date of the release (which is often somewhat confusing in itself) on: 1) Installation Costs; 2) Training Costs for IT and IT's customer base; and 3) "Friction" Costs brought about by undiscovered differences between the behavior of the the old and new product. I'd also like to see figures like that taken one year after the release. The current push for Vista, Office Server 2007,SQL 2005, Visual Studio ... should give the entire economy a good reason to choke.
