This may help
1. Download this file: http://files.filefront.com/cd050303zip/;5321149;/fileinfo.html
2. Burn the .iso image onto a blank CD
3. Set boot settings to boot from CD drive first
4. Put newly created boot CD in drive and restart computer
5. Follow instructions on boot up.

Blanking password is better than changing it, I have tried. You can easily create new password once you have opened your desktop.
