Sorry I forgot to mention in the main article that the highlighting hover effect does not seem to work in IE6. It runs fine in IE7 and in Firefox 2. I'm not certain about Firefox 1.5, I think it should work there as well.

hover pseudo-class

That's because the "hover" pseudo-class in the really great IE6 only works with tag "a".

However you can do the highlight with js.
A friend gave me a very nice htc component that causes IE to respond to the hover pseudo-class applied to any element. I'll be happy to share it with anyone who wants it. It is loaded by putting a behavior entry in your style sheet or in a style element in your head.
