At least if the company knows of the problem, they can investigate alternative solutions. Depending on the vulnerability, this could be as simple as installing a software firewall, or antivirus software, or increasing the traffic monitoring of their IDP system.

Knowledge is power. Why wouldn't you want people to have the facts?
