get yourself a copy of VMware Server
VMware should pay me for the amount of times I post there name. If looking at other OS is what you want to do though, it's really the best way to go right now. You can build a VM for each OS you want to play with. If you break it, you'r not touching your native OS install and you can easily blow away the VM and start over as many times as you like.

I finally got eGroupware configed and working last night in a VM. Once I get it syncing calendars and tasks with Outlook on a second VM; I'll blow away the eGroupware machine, build it nice and clean then really start to use it for home.
