I waited a couple of months until I was pushed to provide 'new insight' due to my greater experience than anyone else in the department. How did that work out you ask? Staff loved me, my manager HATED me. He had built the network, and even though he wanted my opinions and planning (I was hired as Technical Architect), he hated the fact that I knew how to do things better. You need to be very careful with this one, I am (of course) now in a new position with a different company.
