The new Puppy looks nice, I'll have to stick it on a flashdrive tonight.

Off-hand, how does it compare to Damn Small Linux? DSL has been my standard flashdrive distrobution for a while but that's not reason to avoide considering a different tiny distro.
I downloaded Puppy Linux and tried to install it in Microsoft's Virtual PC.It got stuck at a password request. This looks like old software and I say that Linux itself is somebody's diversionary scam. There's a group out there that says Linux is great, but I can not get it to work no matter how hard I try means that I'm inept and Linux is for higher minds.(surf the web for a month and throw the computer away because it stops working)
The Puppy Linux forum http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy is geared to helping people who are having trouble getting Puppy to work. Give us a try. The most you can lose is Windows.
Puppy is the future of Linux, why you might ask , well if you look at vista and xp, xp took years to prefect, and vista well thats just overblown junk, and Microsoft plans to stop support on xp, so there will be tons of users looking for a non bloated operating system and when they find out about 70mb distro with tons of apps and excellent themes, well i think it will be time for them to take a hard look at LInux, the only draw backs i can see, is the file systems are confusing and the programs are not really the same, like Dreamweaver vs NVU ,Bluefish, Komposer, Linux versions aren't even half as good and NVU & Komposer which are its closest reviles haven't been updated or worked on over 1year and some say they are dead projects, while dreamweaver cs3 just came out, or Photoshop vs inkscape, Gimp/Gimpshop, Photoshop once again wins hands down, its stuff like this that needs improvements, the best Linux has is Open Office , well that is a really great program and would make microsoft users think about changing systems, Since its free and works the same, I am not kicking Linux but what i am saying is that it needs to keep moving forward on a regular basis, I would pay/Donate atleast $50 for a linux version of dreamweaver/photoshop and i think others would if it would ever happen. Because NVU and Gimp just don't cut it in the web development world. thanks for your time.
Link to the download page does not work.

But there is always internet search. DistroWatch is also an interesting place.

But if you really want this article in PDF form, the download link does, in fact, work. I just downloaded it. And got a confirmation email.

One guess is that you might be blocking scripts.

Puppy Linux
Snapper52 9th Feb 2011
I have tried out lots of different distros and have come to the conclusion puppy is a serious contender when changing from windows to linux. I am using lucid puppy on a old compaq notebook and I have speed and fun with it. I am thinking of running puppy on 1 of my desktop computers and I am looking forward on this project.

I only recently heard about Puppy Linux as a tool to repair windows machines.
The one thing I had seen that impressed me with Linux as a real option was that time after time, the Webinar Demonstrators would be showing multiple iterations of Windows Clients and a server ( usually) so that the product they were showing would have a closed system that had 2 clients running from a server, or in some cases "interacting with a server" and things would usually work very well, and if a Windows client or server crashed, then it would taken almost no time to restart the client or server. I did find out that the demonstrators almost universally used VMWare's Workstation for Linux install and the common Linux base install was Ubuntu.
I have used Active disk as a solution/fixer option for windows PC, since I work in IT, and I also have to test on systems with Windows, so Windows is not a choice I can change, but the base system is something I can fix; especially after talking with techs from VMWare about the Workstation for Linux Client.
It is beginning to look like Puppy is going to be a good add in to my tool kit. I just have to make sure it is network/internet secure.
The other comment is that I find it amusing the amount of Windows commentators and techs whose primary machine is a MAC of various kinds, and now with FUSION from VMWARE they can even test windows content without leaving the more stable MAC realm.
