Annoying features, they are!
I found the article informative and well thought-out. It has not encouraged me to complain more than I already do, perhaps because I'm an adult. I've been using some form of Word for over 10 years and not been bothered much by _most_ of these annoyances. These annoyances can be considered features by some people and glitches by others. Do you remember the saying, "That's not a glitch, that's a feature"? To each their own.
However, my personal pet peeve is the default action to "When Selecting, Automatically Select Entire Word". So I understand that not knowing how to turn an annoyance off can be very frustrating.
