http://www.techrepublic.com/forum/discussions/102-231126-2286966

I felt the above was a good article and led me to question my current need for a project plan and why / how those dimensions fitted the current situation.I face acting as a BSA on a project where I am pushing the PM to note, understand and act on a number of activities that can be pursued in the immediate short term. With no enthusastic take-up of the concept of putting this into a plan 'document' I'm also seeing the ownership of these tasks, and the progress of them to both be none-forthcoming.So creating my own plan and trying to use to 1) brainstorm/organise to myself and then 2) communicate to the PM of where/what needs to be done seems to have done 5% of the trick. So my advice / feeling is that the PM should take notice of what a project team is asking for and consider this against/with their own views and use for plans - just cos it's in their head ok doesn't mean the project team will believe you or see progress/organisation.comments/advice for me?
