Everyone seems to be extremely happy with them and their reliability. The support people seem to have alot less problems(I sit in the same room) with regard to phone calls for support on the mac's. Which I think initself an indication of how well things go with them.
I've had my fingers in the command level of OS X on an older mac that was setup as a server for some Java applications. I'm a FreeBSD fan, so I found it easy to adopt to. Even though there are some not so subtle differences.
I guess, that if I was to switch from windows as my primary desktop. Mac would be one of my top choices. The other would be PC-BSD.
Truthfully, I'm not ready to switch yet though. To me, a BSD system should be used as a server. It's stable and it's secure. I hate the thought of trashing a good solid workhorse OS loading up a bunch of gui crap. Chuckle, I actually cringed when I typed that. Just the thought of GUI on my BSD system gives me the shivers of disgust. And thats not saying it wouldn't work like a charm, just. What a waste.
I know, doesn't make any sense. But, eh.. What can I say.
