I would always take Novell as a primary, mainly due to managability.

Novell can manage MS and MAC servers with ease, especially in high numbers. MS and MAC have very stringent limits on the managability of Novell servers or MS to MAC etc.

It seems that Novell generally sits behind several MS and MAC servers, due to this same issue, and that of stability and security (not to say that MAC can't offer security and stability, but MS sure as hel can't).

For the most part I agree with your comments, why not? But in a mixed environment, I would always use NOvell at the back due to the ease and accuracy of multi server management.
