It's still worthwhile for tracking down issues you may be having in other browsers. Firefox is much more standards-compliant than IE6/7; I usually find that if I'm having trouble with something in another browser, I can pull up the Firebug debugger in Firefox and track down the issue without too much trouble.

Man, I really wish they had a similar plugin for IE and/or Safari. The IE Developer Toolbar is a start, but it's buggy, slow, and just having it installed caused IE to crash constantly on my machine, so I had to remove it. Sigh.. we can only hope.

Actually, there IS a JavaScript debugging tool for IE.
We have recently developed a browser-side JavaScript Debugger for IE called SlineTech JavaScript HTML Debugger. Though it's not an add-on for IE, rather it's a standalone debugging tool that requires IE6/IE7 installed, and has lots of useful features that we believe every JavaScript Developer will love to have.

You can check it out at our web site:

@Nick Bouton: Do you work in the Film industry up there in Burnaby? Some of my favorite TV shows are made there. (I'd have sent you a personal e-mail for this question but your Bio was blank.)
Really interesting thanks - I always found it frustrating debuging my html and javascript.. look forward to using this in future developments!!!
I have been using Firebug with Firefox and although I haven't been using it too long it has already made my life a lot easier...Don't know about the other Debugger though...haven't felt the need to use it so far...Haven't heard any raving reviews of it either that would recommend me to delete Firebug and go for that instead...
