Dont blame the messenger ! VoIP can be good and bad depending on the overall quality of the lines the voice packet travels on. Other factors are in play such as whether or not echo cancellation software or hardware exists at the switch. Some carriers if they are a telecom and not a voip carrier dont use echo cancellation, furthermore if you are on a cable line some cable providers actually do not prioritize voice packets. Then you are limited to the line that provides your bandwidth....All of this we figured out a long time ago at www.simicomm.com, now not only do we set up custom applications for phone companies and voip companies wanting a hosted solution but we beta tested our software on many different environments.
Deb,

The reason those links point to app.bronto.com is that Lingo uses Bronto (http://bronto.com) as their Email Service Provider. This is a common practice in the email marketing community. If you look at the links in most email newsletters you will see that it often doesn't point to the domain you expect it to. These links redirect through to the target page.

I know it can be confusing, but as I said, it is a common practice.

Connection Fee
stux@... 27th Sep 2007
For those of you who may not have noticed the fine print, the ad states that there is a convenient 79 cent connection fee added to every call... which explains the 10 free minutes! Not a great plan for 50-60 or 120-second long calls, but it does seem cost effective for everything else.
Integration with Applications.

The ability to click on a number on my laptop or desktop and have the number dialed out. Or the ability to go into Exchange, highlight a contact and have it dial immediately.

Cisco has it, although it requires additional software and configuration time.
Depending on the solution provider you have options for those features as well as many others (ie: dial on your computer by clicking or manually entering a # and have it dial out from your cell phone) whether it be a hosted PBX solution or SIP(VoIP) enabled PBX which has just as many options just a couple differences depending on your Disaster Recovery preferences. The pricing is included with the whole plan for either if you pick the right solution provider!
There is carrier options to have forwarding options to where you can dial out on your VoIP service to your cell to an international country and your cell would get the local air time usage but the LD would bill under your VoIP carrier plan. For reliability if your business is going with a Tier 1 carrier solution they should offer the VoIP over MPLS which prioritizes the voice data packets as the most important info to be transfered guaranteeing delivery for real time functionality of a voice conversation as noted above "VOIP and QUALIT OF SERVICE". Anyone interested in finding out more send me an email bill@sidepath.com I am a technology consultant that doesn't charge for advice wink
