I enabled FTP access and remote login, any chance that would pose as a threat?
It is all a matter of controlled risk. Do you need those services? Remote login would be the bigger threat as it would allow someone to login to the system over the network. This means that the security is only as good as the username and password on the system.
I do need to have it enabled because I SFTP and SCP to it from my windows machine. I do alot of my work on the Mac but whenever I need to copy something over, I just SCP over the network.
Question;
I am ready to install Vista with dual boot Bootcamp. To protect my new IMAC, do I
need to buy 2 seperate anti- virus programs? One for Vista and one for Apple
since it is a dual boot.

Yes, The Vista install is just like a stand alone PC installation. You will need to take all of the usual precautions to protect the Vista install. This would include using an antiviral/antimalware solution as well as running the updates for Vista.
I have always been told that I don't need Antivirus software
on the Mac. If I do,
would someone suggest a vendor.
Because I have had many bad experiences with them, please
do not suggest
Norton.

Where I work, we've just implemented Sophos AV and it seems to work really well. It's already cleaned up a few annoying word macroviruses and even notifies us if a Windows virus infested file is on someone's OS X hard drive. It's light on the resources and completely silent for the end user. So far it's been almost 2 months and I'm pleased with the results.
