Do you use Thunderbird?
no big deal, someone will step up to continue the development.

I personally use Seamonkey mail for gui based mail client, if Seamonkey didn't exist I would probably be using Thunderbird.
and Opera, since I detest the firefox UI
I do not know the political reasons behind the move, with 2 quiting at the exact same time however im sure there is good reasoning behind it. I just hope it does not hinder the project.
