A few other reasons I can think of:
a) You are doing it in search of a big pay check. Yes, the pay can be rewarding after you pay your dues. But passion for coding is essential, you can???t sleepwalk though this job.
b) You are not persistent. Often you are challenged with some real complexities or bugs. You need to be able to stick with it and solve these problems, and hopefully enjoy the challenge.
