Then how do you reconcile the fact that some developers are 10X more productive than others? If the average starting salary for a CS grad is $50K, are you saying that the top dev(s) in your company make $500K? If not, why not as they provide that much additional value.
As I read this article and the comments, does it dawn on anyone else that no wonder the number of CS grads is down? Who in the h*ll would ask for this mistreatment? And for what? To make a paltry $150K? That's peanuts in many fields. If you are really smart, good with analysis and logical thinking, why CS when you could be making millions on Wall Street? You would be a fool.
