It's hard to tell from your pictures what it's actually doing. Is the derrick in the middle lighting up? or the bars? Perhaps some photos in dark with and without a wi-fi signal would illustrate it better.

My bad. Just thought to follow your link to the actual sales page and it shows the action quite clearly there. Looks fun. I think I'll get a couple for Christmas presents!

Follow the link in the article to the Think Geek site and you will see the shirt in action.

Considering the washing and care instructions, this is a shirt only a true geek could love.

OK, I'm just waiting until some actually buys one of these gadgets and tries to wear it through security at the airport.

Real fun

Add some wires and grey modeling clay for real fun! This might be a good way to win a Darwin Award.
Does it come with a big plate on the back too? You know, the one that says "I'm a dork"?
while the concept is cool, the design of this shirt is horrible. how are you supposed to wash this thing? And does it come in a fit for people who have necks??

Before I would wear anything like this. Someone actually said it was cool. No, its not. Interesting, sure. Its the kind of shirt you might wear if you are working at a booth at at technology fair, and your product involves WiFi. That is probably the only safe place to wear it.
I would like to put it on the side of my laptop bag. I think it would be geektastic!

Or...

You know just do it the old fashioned way and prop up the antenna on your wireless card! Come on people... do we really want to indentify ourselves to the general public? People are stupid! They misunderstand us. They will try and kill us if they see us wearing this shirt! Little do they know that we could collapse the foundation of the world they live in! Its a powerful thought I know...
You have got to be joking!!! WiFi detector pants would be way cooler!
As if my friends don't think me a big enough geek now. I have been called Batman in a busness suit. This would just be the cherry on the top, but I gota' have it.
I've had this shirt for a couple weeks already (this article is kinda old news already). It works great! People don't think I'm a geek or dork...they just want to know what it does and how it works. It's spurned many a question about wireless, etc. Really fun!
Yes, it washes just fine, but I have noticed it takes some time to get the "meter" velcro'ed back on the shirt straight. Plus, if I get hot and sweat a bit, it starts to curl on the edges...goes away over time though.
Fairly accurate 802.11 b/g detection too!

but I would hope that it "spawned" questions, not "spurned" them.
I would like to see this panel on a totebag. And it is pretty dorky, but cool (geez, I am a nerd).
Hey, would it be less dorky to have it on a NASCAR/baseball cap?
With a mullet down the back?

Imagine this: Tinky Winky, Dipsy, Laa-Laa, Po and HEREEEE COMES... WIFI-tubby!
Yuck! I think I'd like it on a baseball cap better cool

Good Idea!

...and they can make the strength of the Wi-Fi signal depending on the size of one's "antenna". Of course, a "signal booster" kit will also be available & sold separately for those antennae which are not up to par :-P
Those Indian waiters may have been acting like they were interested in your t-shirt but they were really thinking "you must go home now!".

Especially after your 3rd of 4th trip up to the buffet happy

Great concept, but I think it'd work better packaged in a ball cap. For extra geekiness, add solar panels to the bill.

Or build it into a necktie. The greater the signal, the more lines. Full signal strength illuminates the entire length of the tie, from knot to point.

Either would be loads of fun until the cool kids beat you up.

Ball cap

I was thinking the same thing, I'd get one just for fun, as I have 40 or so ball caps now, whats one more?
