Wow, that vulnerability in Excel is crazy. The boys at microsoft should get on that one as soon as possible. Pretty interesting about skype as well, I gave up on them a little while back and have been using ooVoo since.
Microsoft has not publicized any intent to patch the Excel bug. They are recommending work-arounds or upgrading. Since Office 2008 for Mac is not particularly stable, I plan to upgrade to Open Office or iWork and be done with the problem.
