When this new drive comes out, it should not only be fast but have the sheer capacity to carry alot of data. It is no good having a fast drive if it does not hold at least 200gb of data. In the future we will all need faster drives of varius sizes then the computer will really take of to become even smaller and use less electricity. I will certainly purchase these solid state drives but only if they have the capacity to hold the minimum of 200gb. Just think of the speed boost these drives will do for your computer, bootup in three to five seconds or less.
even if the hybrid flash drives are not leaps and bounds faster, just the fact they draw less power is a fantastic improvement for use in laptops.

I support nearly 600 of them. We've been recently evaluating a thin client type laptop that uses a flash drive.

They not only last longer on battery, but because they are locked down a simple reboot returns them to the original state. No user related problems. Yay!!

Which thin client laptop are you using and what do you like/dislike about it? I've considered using those in one of our apps that requires only a secure 3270 connection.
This is new, what is the price of this fast machine? or is it just for testing?. Sounds just up my street. LOL. I still have a old laptop of three years and it has only let me down once when i had just purchased it, Acer said that the motherboard had died and they not only replaced it within five days but updated it to the next motherboard in the range.

have been around for some time, and can now be had with many new laptops. Dell XPS and Macbook "Air" are a couple. But you can pick the drives themselves up from any quality online reseller like newegg or tigerdirect. You can have the drives in 2.5 for laptops or 3.5 for desktops...but the cost per gig is extrordinarily high.
