It is newbie stuff. Which makes it all the more surprising that this is one of the poorer articles that David Davis has posted.
#2) figure B is the same as figure A;
#4) "spanning-tree portfast" is not something you want to put on all access ports.
#5) configuring an interface with "speed 100" and "duplex half" is a poor configuration example.
