Handholding user/educating user IS the key part of any tech rollout. After all they are going to use it frequently not the IT guys. While it is important for IT people to know in-out of its operations, users must be trained well to use it prior to changing it.
Normally in my case, i try to put the new devices such as advanced printer on show for two days before it made live.
