We had a "software engineer." He was supposed to be this amazing programmer with tons of .Net knowledge.

He:
A) Didn't know what the Boyer-Moore Algorithm was
B) Didn't know that Blob was a real term
C) Couldn't code his way out of a wet paper bag

It was amazing he held onto his job for so long...
