Compaq Luggable
I have no idea what the model number was or anything, but I had one at home every third week when I was starting my career in the mid-eighties. I dialed in over a 2400 baud modem to support IBM mainframes.

It sucked to get calls after hours, but it sure beat what I was doing just 18 months earlier, which was mounting 10" reels of tape on refrigerator sized tape drives for 12 hours a day. We had about 60 of those tape drives, cabled to 6 mainframes, and 250,000 reels of tape.

Today I write J2EE Java apps. I sometimes wonder if, back then, I would have even been capable of imagining my job today.
