I Second the Awesome
I, too was a CoCo-Nut: OS9 OS 'multi-tasking [somewhat UNIX-like]), 80x24 display via bought hardware, multiple 10? (30 meg) 'RLL' format..., C Compiler, Basic09, Pascal compiler, assembler, 64k--128k memory.
There was a version of the OS9 OS that offerred 'Windows' (just hitting the 'clear' key) gave a new window...

Too bad the machine was (I felt) deliberately hobbled in favor of the others that were selling big (a probably bigger margins) at the time.

You're right the 4k 'D-board', chicklet keyboard was the 'real' deal...

The CoCo did run rings around the C64... Ah, but there I go again being a CoCo-nut..

Now to get back to the 'real' world--multi-giabytes of everything... Ah!!!
