RE: The Seagate 50 MB RLL drive, cracked open (Cracking Open a Seagate 50 MB RLL drive)
I'm really surprised someone still had one of these still floating around. I tore one apart back in 1985 to show a class the inner workings. I was defunct at the time and most of the assembly was stripped for parts in various projects afterward. We also disassembled a huge eight inch platter 20 MB drive too as the parts were much larger and thereby easier to exhibit the various funtions to a class.
