"Shadow army"?
You read the headlines too much Rob. I'm not trying to insult you, mind you. I'm just stating that their job was to provide support in Iraq and many other nations for US diginitaries and key people when the troops were spread too thin. They knowlingly get paid to go over seas and put their life on the line. They aren't the band of rogue mercenaries they are made out to be in the news media. There are alot of good men and women working for that outfit. Most are ex special forces or law enforcement personnel with military experience trying to earn some much needed $$ for their families...which law enforcement here is drastically underpaid and saddled with so many bs rules it makes their job quite frustrating, but that's another post all together. While in Iraq they saw alot of action and with all the reporters ther were bound to paint a not to pretty picture. Companies like this have existed for many, many years and have always tried to stay out of the media due to the nature of their business.
