That is, 2008 compared to 2007.

There are some contradicting reports about this right now, and contradictory indicators from different vendors. IBM and HP are more bullish, while Cisco and Dell are more pessimistic.

Overall, it looks like things may not be too bad, according to the new UBS report. A struggling economy could provide an opportunity for companies to look at using technology to streamline operations and save money.

IT has been threadbare since 2001.

I doubt if we'll be hit all that hard, if at all.
