Now you did not mention that after the self-destruct data sequence it is possible to use IronKey's Secure Backup software to restore your backed-up data to a new IronKey.
I looked at the whitepaper briefly but it is not clear if it can revert the destroyed data with the right keys.
Or you need fresh files.. dus needing to keep regular backups on somewhere.

You will be able to restore the data, but only if you have previously backed it up using the free on-line service. (Encrypted of course)
The 'flash thrash' trashes your flash memory AND the encryption key. It triggers when you guess the password wrong more than 10 times. Cool huh.
