Now that you have shown us how to tear it apart, how about telling us where to get replacement parts at a reasonable price.
It wasn't taken apart very far. How about the processor, RAM, and other chips?
Does the BlackJack have an EMI spread spectrum clock?

As to replacing their laptops--only if Samsung has improved them from the original Blackjack. I bought one seven months ago and I just replaced it because I am on my third warranty replacement and this one doesn't work either. It's junk. You want it? Take it--I bought a Centro at full price. Palm--now there's a company who knows how to make hardware. I still have a working Palm PDA (one of the very first) I bought in 1996! It still works. The Centro will be uncool, but I promise still working, in 2020. The Blackjack will still be crap.
can anyone tell me how to crack the blackjack, i want it to work on my fido acct in canada & my at&t account in the us?
Thank you SO MUCH for opening up a BlackJack so I can satisfy my itch to get
inside it without actually dismantling my own. I've been seriously considering
taking it apart and turning it into a wrist-mounted phone, too, but not anymore.
And it's always fascinating to see something's guts. Thank you for letting me take
this thing apart vicariously through you! I greatly appreciate your time and effort in
posting this!!

looks sophisticated, doesn't suit my taste though
While I appreciate the effort put in to document the entire process (or part thereof) of cracking open the BJII, I discovered a few mistakes in labelling the components in image 24 & 26. The micro-SD card slot sits below the SIM card slot in image 24 while the two "LCD screen attachments" would have been the keypad & scroll D-pad connectors in image 26. This 'experiment' would have been really informative if the labels were updated for future reference.
BTW, the screen & keypad/D-Pad can be disconnected & removed entirely.

Since you seem to have knowledge about the inner physical contents of the BJII, I was wondering what you know about it's wifi contents? Consensus is that it is unavailable (except through a data plan). The wifi registry references drive me to continue searching for a definitive answer
Are there any alternative options to gain internet access on the go?
Some users of this forum (http://www.modaco.com/content/samsung-i617-i617-modaco-com/265062/bjii-internal-pics/#entry902451) have dived into the BJII & concluded that there is no WiFi capability built into the BJII, even though there's been speculation that the close resemblance to the SGH-i600 (not BJI) suggests that there might be WiFi capability built into the BJII board but somehow disabled.
The search is still on...

I've had the same problem on two BJ-IIs, the center "OK" key (inside scroll/jog wheel) stops working, first no longer clicks, then it stops functioning altogether. Disassembled the phone to the point of the "cracking open" thread but can't figure out how the scroll/jog wheel comes off so I can get to the center key/button.
Any thoughts, tips or suggestions? Thanks.

This simply llifts straight up to disconnect, allowing the board to carefully 'hinge' away on two other conector ribbons in the battery compartment.
You do not have to remove the upper back cover as shown here too get the phone apart. Also the cover is held on by a number of small plastic pins that push into holes ont he grey part, and these can bend/break if not lined up correctly.
