John,
You are very correct. The truth is that anyone that supported Netware really had to know networking. As a MasterCNE for 3.X and 4.X I really have to hold my laughter at current MCSE's because so many can't handle 'command line' work.
I miss my Netware 3.12 Server with its 786 Days of uptime.
I still have a personal client, a Doctor's officer, that is running Netware 3.2. The Doctor is about to retire and I am being given the Pent. 90mhz that is their server as a 'parting gift'. Netware, in my mind, is still the best File and Print Server ever.
Nice to know there are still us old fans around.
To really give you a laugh, the Atlanta Netware Users Group held a competition to see who knew the install process the best. You had to install Netware in a language that you didn't know. I won a copy of Netware 4.X ( I don't remember whice version) by doing the install in Chinese.
Damn, I'm getting old. LOL
And thanks for bringing up some great memories.
