We rent out servers (large and small scale) to other businesses. All of them are made by tier one manufacturers -- IBM, HP, Sun, etc., and we stock everything from the x86 to the M9000. If you guys *were* to rent a server, for the purpose of training, virtualization, etc. and it came with VMware, is there a particular model you would want?

This already happened to friends of mine at ~a Fortune 500 company in IA~. From what I hear only about 65 folks were asked to carry on with HP, doing essentially the same work in the same spaces as before. While this isn't really a new data center for the customer, Data Center as a Service (DCAS) will happen as fast as the top level Mgt cares to drive it. To their credit DCAS was not welcomed by most of the managers there since nobody much likes to see their friends topping sweet corn in July.
