Will you buy into Blue-ray now that it has been cracked?

The game's afoot. New ecryption scheme, new cracks. When the time comes I will upgrade to Blu-ray but as long as regular DVDs are available I'll wait.

copyright laws in just about every country that has copyright laws. The CONSISTANTLY deny 'fair use'. The customers HAVE the right to watch/listen to what they have bought, anywhere in their house, anytime of their own choosing, and a free choice of OS /player.
The whole DRM is based on LIES !

Meanwhile the DVD I get are very satisfactory. When I go to the store, I just do not see a large enough difference between BlueRay and good DVDs. Could change my mind in the future, depending on many factors.

It doesn't take much to get me put off; if DRM gets in my face too much I may not buy.

I see more positive things about HD-DVD; plus I'm still not getting over the bad taste in my mouth over Sony's root kit fiasco. I got a memory like an elephant over that one!

Any DRM of this type on a computer based player is crackable, since they key has to be known and used to decode the content. The hash or key can be captured and used.

i may just be a cranky and paranoid old fart, but i will NOT purchase a product in ANY way associated with the sony corp, exactly because of that root-kit business. it may come to pass that other corporations try on the same rubbish ( like cameras in set top boxes). if so, i will apply the same criteria to them. should it come to pass that ALL digital products encompass this kind of snide and sneaky rubbish, then i retire from the digital life and go fishing. thank you.
