Personally, I think that eventually Microsoft will win out and end up acquiring Yahoo. When Microsoft sets their sights on an acquisition, they generally end up completing the deal.

Still, with Yahoo seemingly willing to try anything to avoid a takeover, they might be one of the first to avoid such a fate.

How do you think this drama will end?
it's only a bad thing if they're not the monopoly eh?

If a company like Peoplesoft could give a poison pill to Oracle; One that hit hard, I am positive Yahoo has a nastier version.

Yes I do agree eventually M$ will gobble yahoo. But at what cost ? Certainly not the one they are giving out right now...

I am more interested in the technological outcome of this. Will Yahoo replace MSN or at least partly ? Which one of the brands will survive ? Only time will tell..

Me, I personally liked some of the services yahoo offered. But I guess I will shutdown ALL my yahoo accounts the day the merger is completed. I never had Hotmail nor the horror called Passport. I am a hypochondriac when it comes to any M$ services. Except the one M$ shoves down the throat called WindozUpdate. Ugh!

May be I am the only one. But please PLEASE ! don't start sending the whole Windoz Vs. Linux hatemails. Let me clear outright. I use windows at work because they ask me to. Don't have a personal machine. My smartphone is on Symbian.

Cheers

Yes Thats Right You Already Know whats going to happen, Crapsoft is a black hole, they will suck and steal everything they want. I hope the best for Yahoo, I love yahoo but they are done for, the war is a joke all it's doing is making more publicity for Microsoft which in turn will generate more money for the yahoo buyout. Goodbye Yahoo, Welcome the new search site named Yah_soft.com, formitabley known as yahoo.com.

Microsoft may have some help in their efforts, as News.com has offered to join forces with Microsoft in order to make the acquisition happen, though talks between Microsoft and News.com were reported to be in the very early stages.

This should have been News Corp and not News.com. News.com is Owned by Cnet which is a parent of Tech Republic. To the best of my knowledge Rupert Murdoch is interested and talking to M$ and not Cnet the parent of News.com
