Do you have any tips on managing geographically dispersed servers?
.. such as IBM/Dell have things such as RSA cards and DRAC that will allow you to take control at BIOS level remotely and mount your own floppy/CD as if it were the servers. I believe HP also have the technology.
However, for older servers, and everything else without built-in remote access technologies, the IPEPS is just right.
Another way to see it is that the IPEPS represents a simple, transferable (across servers) solution that is not dependent on server brands/implementations.

HP iLO is built into HPs and is first rate, same with Intel & IBM integrated management. For older servers I have been using Lantronix Spider KVM over IP units. They have some issues, but are reliable and reasonably priced. I have even had success piggybacking them onto other two-port KVMs and remote controlling two machines over IP which was very cost effective.
Do they make a 24 port IPEPS and can I stack them? What is the URL of this company so I can check out all the specs? Thanks.
