I was around before Manson was ever arrested, and vividly remember the Tate murder in particular. Up until that point I had no clue that 'evil' was anything more than an abstract concept used by Sunday school teachers to denote 'sin' (another nebulous concept at that age).

It's the use of the word 'pure' in conjunction with 'objectivity' to which I object.
