As far as I can tell, most (many) IT professionals, would be happy to get a job offer for 90K/per year + benefits, bonus etc. That's just the way the market it these days. All the same, any college graduate with a "techie" major, who is expecting to make 90K/per year, will be slapped back into reality quickly =) cuz they aren't going to get it. As another poster mentioned, it doesn't make sense that graduates would expect 90K/per year, when they are typically being offered ONLY 30K, over and over and over again! Somehow, I think our US college graduates are a bit more realistic than that. *Perhaps the references are not really good representation of what our graduates are thinking.
