iphone VPN sucks
I maybe wrong but to me the iPhone VPN Client sucks. I just setup a Cisco ASA 5500 with a remote access VPN using IPsec. I can connect to the thing totally fine with multiple iPhones. One thing I really can not figure out a work around for is it why the thing disconnect from the VPN automatically. Seems to be some sort of power saving feature on the stupid thing but it's really impractical.

The iPhone only stays connected for like two minutes when it's idle while also on battery. Can't find any setting to avoid this. If I have the phone connected to a charger it stays connected until I switch the VPN off.

Have not been able to fine anything on the web regarding this. Prob because the feature just became available.

It's for sure not the ASA as MF set the keep-alive (rekeying) to the lowest (120) and highest settings. Both did not influence the life at which the VPN would stay up.

I bought five of these iPhones and invested an entire week of my development team to build an app and i'm about to return these stupid things.
