The reason I mentioned those particular brands are due to both personal and business use. I've been running a Maxtor drive on my own computer for 10 years. It's outlasted both my computer and two WD HDD's. I replaced it for a newer, larger one 3 years ago and slaved it so now it's going on 13 years running!

My primary business is as a Data Recovery Technician, and I see very few Maxtor drives or the others I mentioned.

I see a LOT of Fujitsu, Seagate and Western Digital HDD's. Of course that may be due to their wide usage in many of today's systems.
