No firetruck here
Re Point #3
Here, here. I got told a number of times to RTFM. So first I had to ask WTF was RTFM? Once I found out, I WTF'ed the responder with TINGDM (a.k.a. There Is No G** Damn Manual). Bash prints out "No manual entry for..." At least on Windows forums I would have been given the link to the manual before being told to read it.

Re Point #4
I had to UNinstall hardware to get Linux to install. The hardware (a Cisco NIC) was NOT designed for Windows.

Re Point #7
Same problem and one of the main reasons many USERS prefer Windows. Yes, Package Management has improved somewhat.
However, for a large step forward how about naming the packages something clear and concise. "cpp-4.5-arm-linux-gnueabi" means nothing to the average user. Having multiple packages all listed with the same name (and are NOT part of the dependencies/RequiredBys) makes the situation more complicated. The given example is listed as "The GNU C Preprocessor" but so are 6 other unrelated packages in my listing. From there the user needs to figure out what other packages they need to get the install done properly? The most common user response: "Yeah, I don't think so. I'll stick with Windows. Thanks."

Re Point #10
The reason I keep back-ups and avoid Windows regcleaners, etc. FUBAR, BSOD, whatever, sometimes it's just easier to start fresh. Sometimes faster may be necessary and overrule taking the time to find the problem.

Re: Beta/VHS.
