I wish more companies felt that way
I see your point. I think I'm having a case of too much
posting before morning coffee.
Capitalism as a market mechanism seems completely
beneficial. The approach of companies that view it purely
as a set of rules to be "gamed" are where the harm comes
in.
It should promote product quality and evolution by
prizing the companies that provide the best product too
the market. In industries where poor product quality is not tolerated, this seems to be the case. In industries like
software, this is the dream more than the reality. Where
the customers are experts, it holds to some degree. Where
the customers are not experts,.. well, Windows is very
popular isn't it.
Perhaps it's just my pessimism on the subject of business.
Some days, it seems like business is only the practice of
finding new and interesting ways to get other's money not
continue the evolution of a product category.
