I used Vista in Beta for 6 months before launch. I was actually excited about it even with semi-broken hard to find drivers - I thought Vista RC 1 was going to make a great OS. RC 2 changed a few things and it didn't run quite as fast, but it was still pretty good imo. They broke it somewhere when finalizing the RTM version. I got a copy of Vista Business after release and couldn't believe what they'd done to it. It was sluggish, the UAC was out of control, backward compatibility was laughable.. but at least it looked pretty. I still have it installed as part of a multi-boot option but only use it when necessary having gone back to using XP and Ubuntu. When someone asks me what I think of Vista the only thing I can think to say good about it is - "It's quite pretty..."
