I am aware of the availability of this capability in Linus, but I work within both linux and Windows environments and I sadly miss this capability within Windows.

It seems that this situation will not change in the near term until the need for increased productivity in the windows environment receives enough attention, i.e., someone takes up the cause. Could that possibly be TechRepublic?
