Yesterday, I entered the UK from a direct flight from Russia.

Not only did I NOT have to have any luggage scanned, or walk through a metal detector or have any minimum wage jerk give me a pat-down -- I didn't even have to show a passport or answer any stupid questions from border control goons and CERTAINLY didn't have to submit any electronic equipment for confiscation.

All it takes is walking up to the UNMANNED retina scanner booth and in less than 10 seconds you're through.

That's the way to run a border. Bloody marvellous!

(And by the way, exiting the UK is even EASIER -- there are NO border controls - just the usual screening for any kind of flight.)
