Politely Disagree
Tony,
I respectively disagree with you. If the Business Analyst does not take the time to understand the business issue, problem, goal that is trying to be resolved or implemented, if the BA doesn't know how to manage the requirements through the life of the project, if the BA cannot represent those business requirements to the technical developers and testers, then we end up building a wonderful, sometimes eligant solution to the wrong problem. Is the project a success just because we THOUGHT we did what they wanted? Or do we measure success on how satisfied the business is with the solution that was delivered and how well their expectations were managed?
So what are your ultimate measures for success?
