i don't know if anyone else already commented...i got in on this sorta late.

if you go look at a LOT of MS's solutions in their knowledge base for things such as web services, diagnostics for network issues, etc., you have to go to a command prompt.

as for the linux interface requiring too much command-line interfacing, i actually only have to use command line whenever i am doing something such as editing the boot parms or something. never as a user.

KDE 3 is just as robust as Windows XP or Vista.
