There's nothing new within this template. It's not very executive, you have to attach many (not included) documents and it's not user friendly.
I think an executive project status report should not be longer than one page and must include some graphs.
Just my two cents.
If a sponsor is giving you several million to use on a project & this is what he gets in return, I don't think you'd be PM for long.
This template did not seem to offer any new or cutting edge ideas. In past project status reports the use of stop light - red, green, yellow is effective and easy to see. Apprpropriate explainations are offered for those items red and yellow. Much easier to see at a glance. I agree with other comments that one page should capture project summary with attachments providing more detail as required by audience.

In order to customise surely a word doc would have been better - no use at all really
The boxes are quite vague; I think one of them should have been "Are you doing good things, not bad things?"
I prefer, for example, the concept of "control panel".
