This word: quality.
Remember it.
All too often rule 11 is followed just to get somebody in Bangalore at 1/4 salary and with no health care benefits. After all, a trained tech here is as good as a trained tech 3,000 miles away, right?

Nope. Generally the outsourced candidate, however new his or her diploma and no matter how earnest eager they are to help you, do not do the job as well as their now terminated AMERICAN COUNTERPART.

Quality goes out door. When that goes, all kinds of hidden expense metrics come into play and things go to hell quite rapidly.
BUT

Walk of shame ??

My arse.

That was projecting. You as manager would be ashamed of being laid off, because that means you've been found out. Us shop floor types were merely the scapegoat, because you lost convincingly at golf again. No shame in that at all, for us.
